Dear creator of our future(s),
I’m so glad you’re here.
As a Lebanese woman working in the field of design and technology, I’m aware of the biases that dictate girls' and women's choices, affect women in the workplace and have an impact on everyday life. Unless more voices contribute to the design of the future, this imbalance will stay rooted and we risk living in a world where women don’t have the skills to participate in the shaping of our futures.
We need change and change starts with representation. I want to see a world where many more women are leaders, and girls just like boys are encouraged to enter STEAM careers. Why STEAM? Because it’s a creative way of inspiring everyone to discover and explore the fields of STEM and because core STEM skills are increasingly becoming life skills, everybody needs them.
More girls need to see their future in design, art, science, and technology. I want to support women working in STEAM careers to seed a more diverse and brighter tomorrow. I want to help women empower each other so that new ideas can emerge and women-led innovation can blossom.
Because I’m a designer and creative technologist, I work through experimentation. And, this is a beautiful experiment — a community for the designers, artists, scientists, and technologists that are building the future.
Let’s live in a world designed by everyone.
