Yuhanxiao (Maggie) Ma

Multimedia Artist, Researcher & Educator

Challenging assumptions about technological progress through multi-media installations that reveal the ethical tensions between science and lived experience.

Yuhanxiao (Maggie) Ma is a research-driven multimedia artist whose work explores the intersection of speculative fiction, science, and ethics, exposing overlooked narratives and critically examining dominant assumptions about technological progress.

Utilising 3D fabrication, casting, physical computing, and multimedia installation, her practice investigates how scientific and technological systems shape lived experience, often blending critical inquiry with speculative storytelling.

Rooted in rigorous research, her work addresses ethical dilemmas and exposes the often-unintended consequences of innovation. Drawing from phenomenology and critical theory, she both employs and interrogates technology as a means of understanding its broader societal implications.
