Yan Shao is a terrestrial artist and creative technologist born in China and currently living in New York.
She creates poetic new media artworks that explore the perceptual possibility and mediate the complex interrelations, illuminating a deep sense of connection between humans and the earth.
Yan’s aesthetic language is inspired by geological time, natural transience, and ecological humanity. She received her bachelor's in Geology at Yunnan University, a Master of Fine Arts degree from San Francisco Art Institute, and an MPS in the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
